Harvesting Hope and New Beginnings

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor." Ecclesiastes 4:9

Autumn is a season for gathering and taking stock of the harvest. As we reflect on October at Cornerstone of Grace, our hearts are full with gratitude for what we have grown together. Every family welcomed into our care, every bed furnished with fresh linens, and every step taken toward healing and self-sufficiency are built on simple, powerful acts of kindness from our volunteers, donors, and community partners.

The impact we see every day is only possible because of the seeds planted all year long. Here is a look back at what God accomplished through our community this past month and a preview of how you can partner with us as we head into the end-of-year giving season.

Celebrating Our Community Partners & Volunteers

It truly takes a village to walk alongside the women and children who come through our doors. This month, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of local community members and organizations:

  • Pizza Ranch Fundraiser: A huge thank you to Pizza Ranch for hosting us as a fundraiser partner and donor, raising $546 to support our programs! We are so grateful to the dedicated volunteers who came out to serve and support the event.

  • South Wisconsin District Lutheran Women in Mission: On October 3rd, our team had the honor of speaking at the Fall Rally. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly and for your generous donations to our ministry.

Urgent Need: Help Us Welcome a New Mom!

When mothers join Cornerstone of Grace, we commit to walking alongside them every step of the way. Your support covers essential living expenses, nutritious food, and hands-on life skills training. We are currently preparing to welcome a brand-new mother into our home, and we need a little help gathering essential items to ensure her space is safe, comfortable, and inviting before she arrives!

1. Donate Wishlist Items (Brand New Only)

We are collecting the following items to prepare her room:

  • Mattress cover & Blue Full Sheet Sets

  • Full Comforter & Standard Pillows

  • Towel Sets

  • Bath Sets (bathroom rugs, trash cans, toothbrush holders, soap dispensers)

  • Vacuum Cleaner

To coordinate a local pickup or drop-off, please reach out to us directly at cornerstoneofgrace3@gmail.com.

2. Give Online

Prefer to contribute financially so our team can purchase items on her behalf? You can donate directly through our secure New Beginnings Fund Donation Form.

3. Volunteer as a Housesitter (Oct. 15 – Nov. 15)

Giving a few hours of your time can make a world of difference. We are looking for volunteer house sitters to help our new resident feel safe, supported, and welcomed during her first 30 days in the program.

Volunteer Spotlight: Deb's Reflection

Our volunteers are the backbone of our community. Here is what one of our wonderful volunteers, Deb, shared about her experience:

"God has been so good to me. I've seen many miracles in my life and in my loved ones' lives. One of my favorite activities is spending time with children by volunteering at my church and at Cornerstone of Grace. It gives me great pleasure and purpose to serve in this ministry! The children are truly a joy to be with. Recently, one of the children asked if I could come play every day—that was really sweet! I'm also blessed to get acquainted with the moms, visiting with them and praying for them."

Harvesting Hope for the Next Generation

When we reflect on our fall "harvest," we aren't just focusing on the mothers we are investing in the bright futures of their children. Through our youth-focused programs, we help children plant seeds of confidence, stability, and growth across four key pillars:

  • 🌱 Emotional Health: Professional counseling tailored specifically to their age and needs.

  • 🌱 Academic Growth: Tutoring and homework support to help them thrive in school.

  • 🌱 Guidance & Inspiration: Caring mentors who walk alongside them.

  • 🌱 Stability & Fun: Structured activities that bring routine, safety, and joy into their everyday lives.

When you support Cornerstone of Grace, you are investing directly in a child’s potential and helping break cycles for generations to come.

How Your Group Can Help: Host a New Beginnings Drive!

Looking for a meaningful way for your business, church, family, or community organization to give back? Consider partnering with us to host a New Beginnings Drive!

By hosting a drive, your group helps ensure that every mother and child who graduates from our program leaves with essential home items to set up their new independent living space.

  • Needed Essentials (Brand New Only): Twin, Queen, & Crib Sheets, Mattress Covers, Comforters & Pillows, Towel Sets, Bath Sets, and Vacuums.

  • How It Works: Set up a collection box in your lobby, host a collection month with your team, or pool resources with family and friends.

Looking Ahead: Finish the Year by Changing a Life

As we move into November and December, we invite you to join our End-of-Year Campaign of Hope. November and December are critical months for our ministry, and your financial support ensures we can continue providing shelter, care, and program resources throughout the coming year.

Maximize Your Year-End Gift:

  • 🏢 Corporate Matching: Did you know many companies match employee charitable contributions dollar-for-dollar? Check with your employer’s HR department to see if your gift can be doubled or tripled!

  • 🧾 Tax Deductions: As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all financial contributions made to Cornerstone of Grace before December 31 are tax-deductible for the current tax year.

  • 🎁 Planned Giving & DAFs: You can also support our mission through appreciated stocks, Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), or IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs).

Together, we can multiply our impact and make new beginnings possible for even more families.
